Okay, I'll admit it - I'm drawn to this picture.
But it's not quite right, so I started to wonder why. Too much of the out of focus stuff on the left, the present on the right is too far away from old St Nick. In the process, the great expression of the weary old man is lost.
Robert Capa - "If you're pictures aren't good enough, you're not close enough".
Bring this a bit tighter (20% maybe). Since it's obviously staged, move the present on the right closer. Let the view really experience the great expression of the model. Now, that's the image that I'm trying to obsess on.
