Try explaining to your intellectually savvy, but economically challenged 6-year-old that Santa, who lives at the presumably snowier-than-here North Pole, might not make it to your house until Saturday or Sunday at the earliest due to a few inches of new snow.

We called The Forgotten Children's Fund this morning, to offer the use of the Seattlest Subaru for the day and were told that they are closing up shop and deliveries are canceled until Saturday at the earliest. The FCF links Santa with needy families in order to make the holiday a little more Christmas-y for children of families having a hard time making ends meet.

Heartbreaking.
