Cool Runnings

We're loving the renegade street closures, like this one fashioned from an old wooden chair. Bad ice last night on Queen Anne meant pretty decent ghetto-sledding. We scavenged some cardboard, and later, plastic sheeting from a construction site and set out to create a smooth, slick run in the powdery snow.

Some guy with cans of beer stuffed in his jeans attempted to slide on plywood while his girlfriend tried to ride the north side on her snowboard. We all took turns pushing each other while one would-be sledder shouted "We need more inertia!"

Then some cranky guy came out to complain--"I know it's snowing but I can barely hear my movie!" Dude, you need to get a life. Or at least some plastic sheeting.
