Tolls? We Love 'em! Toll Booths Not So Much

By a 2-to-1 ratio, area residents have expressed support for using tolls to help fund the 520 Bridge replacement. This according to survey results provided in an e-mail release today by the state-created 520 Tolling Implementation Committee.

Also from the survey: "Support for tolling increased when respondents learned about electronic tolling and the fact that there will be no toll booths (increased to 69% in online survey; 77% in phone survey). Tolling in 2010, if it results in lower tolls and financing costs, was supported by a nearly 3:1 margin in online survey (60% to 23%) and less than a 2:1 margin in phone survey (58% to 36%)." Least surprising bit o' data released today? "Mercer Island residents who responded to the online survey were almost all opposed to tolling I-90."

And now, the YouTube perspective on tolling.

NSFW Blazing Saddles clip after the jump. We repeat, this is not safe for workplaces where you can't swear up a blue streak:

I took the survey - the design was biased, as was the interpretation.

Personally, I'd rather not pay tolls until the thing is BUILT. Remember the Monorail Tax?
