Today, we decided to call WaMu to ask about getting our mortgage bailed out in some sort of way, since all the other kool kids are doing it, including WaMu's new sugar daddies themselves.

We started our adventure by calling the phone number listed on our billing statement (888-800-8738), where a very French-sounding "Pierre" forwarded us to "Sharisse" in the "WaMu Care Team." Sharisse was sure she couldn't help us but would forward us to a "Risk Operations Associate." While waiting for this sure-to-be-helpful person, we were put on hold until the call was automatically disconnected at the 10:20 mark. (Whoo hoo!)

Our second call brought us the dulcet-toned voice of "George," who was also sure he couldn't help us, and was equally sure that the "WaMu Care Team" (800-918-4029) was exactly the right place for us. However, George also told us that this aforementioned, highly-skilled group of mortgage saviors was only available before noon Eastern Time.

You're gonna have to get up early to save that house, Seattle.
