Troy, now you're getting silly. My point was simple: Michael is painting with an absurdly broad brush, calling virtally all CofC people stupid. They may make bad decisions, as we all do. And you may disagree with them, as you both (and many others) clearly do here. But that doesn't make them stupid people, and Michael sounds pretty childish calling names.

I'm still not quite sure how you can refute the (obviously exaggerated) claim of "jaw-dangling idiots" populating the Chamber with claiming it's populated by people cherry picked businesses but cherry picking their failures is somehow out of whack? What you were saying is that the Chamber isn't populated by idiots because it's populated with people that work at companies x, y, and z. I say companies x, y, and z have brought to the public the failures of a, b, and c. Certain people, usually pretty fucking high level people for giving the approval, are responsible for failures a, b and c. So, would it be safe to say that the Chamber is filled with people who approve failures? If you answer yes, then your use of them as an example against the exaggerated claim holds merit. If you answer no, then your comment holds nothing but air. To put it simply, your argument of representation in the Chamber of Commerce is a logical fallacy. It could be filled with idiots or geniuses. But the companies represented have a practical zero pull on the issue. What the Chamber puts forth is the truest indicator of it's population. And that plan is stupid.

Cherry-picking, Troy. There are a lot of damn smart people at all those companies, who have accomplished a lot more than making ridiculous aspersions in a blog.

Let's see. Chambers of Commerce are populated by local business people, from the likes of Microsoft, Boeing, Alaska Airlines, Davis Wright Tremaine, NBBJ, etc. According to you, they're all largely "jaw-dangling idiots." Just wanted to be sure we have that straight.

I have an idea. Let's build the Choppway hybrid. Build a few deep bore freeways, combine them with a few high-capacity surface streets, add a massive viaduct, and top it not with a grass lined street but another viaduct. Maybe there's a way to fit a Nascar track on the thing as well.
