I'm not sure about the rerouting, whomsRU, but I'll try to find more information for you. The combining of Cleveland and Rainier Beach High Schools has to do with the sizes of the schools, it's my understanding that they are the two smallest.

My younger brother recently attempted to switch from the Bellevue School District to the Seattle School District after moving to Queen Anne with my father. The problem is that he is a senior with an IEP or "Individualized Education Plan". After being notified that Ballard High School could not accomodate a student in his situation, he was told his only options were Summit or Rainier (both school approximately 1 1/2 + hours away). Why couldn't Ballard accomodate? With the elimination of Summit, are all students in his situation to routed to Rainier and what happens when that school is unable to accomodate IEP students? (He ended up staying at Robinswood an alternative high school in Bellevue because the commute was shorter there than to Rainier Beach!)
