Seattlest Pix: 08Nov27 Thanksgiving Edition

"Bob at Greenlake" by Jeff Carlson

Bob at Greenlake

We were searching our Flickr Pool for something Thanksgiving themed and somehow happened upon this photo, taken about this time one year ago. Not only does Bob look like a nice guy, but this photo also reminds us that this is our favorite time of year for a stroll around Green Lake, or anywhere for that matter. Thanks to Jeff for sharing and to Bob for being so photogenic and for perhaps inspiring us to get out of the house and walk off today's big meal.

A note to our lovely readers: The offices here at Seattlest HQ will be closed for a few days, so posting will be a bit sparse. See you on Monday and have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

This photo makes me all kinds of misty. My dad used to walk Greenlake every morning, even into his 70's.

It was a special part of his day that he enjoyed so much. He eventually purchased a bench placed at one particular spot he liked to pause at, just to enjoy the view. He wanted that bench to be a place where others paused, just for a moment.

Happy Thanksgiving to all = be thankful for those at your table and those long gone from this table.
