My parents were serial offenders--at the time I didn't really cut them slack for having five other kids to look after. It's embarrassing to have to repeatedly ask to use the school phone to see where your ride is. "Forgot again, huh?" *weeps at the memory* Thus my keen interest in public transit!

Ha - Just re-watched Paul Newman's performance in the movie of Russo's Nobody's Fool. Great book, pretty darn good movie. Big plot point ends up being his forgetting his grandson, standing out in the upstate cold. I guess if this happened to you, it must really hurt.

My mom forgot to pick me up on my first day of kindergarten, which also happened to be my fifth birthday. Totally plumb slipped her mind. PARENTS, DON'T FORGET YOUR KIDS, they will hold it against you forever!
