Yeasayer's appearance at Neumos has already been plugged today, but Seattlest would be remiss if we didn't also advise showing up for tonight's openers, Icy Demons. The video above is from their 2004 album Fight Back!, showing the band's more mellow side, but helps to get across the band's light-hearted vibe. Their latest album, Miami Ice, deftly switches between the 8-bit party jam of the title track and jazzier fare like "Jantar Mantar." Rather than following one direction faithfully, Miami Ice sprawls stylistically (understandable considering the band's other memberships in Man Man, Tortoise, and Prefuse 73), but isn't jarring because it's so damn...pleasant. We're really curious to see if the audience tonight can keep up with the dizzying changes.
