Tonight, Seattlest has parted with its tradition of Monday night happy hours over at Moe Bar and has instead joined together with Seattle Metblogs, CHS, and some of the other Neighborlogs that incessantly document the daily minutiae of your neck of the woods to co-host the first Blogsgiving tonight at Grey Gallery (1512 11th Ave.) from 5 to 8 p.m.
The event is free, but in the spirit of the holidays we're recommending you offer a $5 donation to Northwest Harvest and/or non-perishable food items. Not that anyone needs reminding, but times are tough and food banks are seeing a spike in demand as every other retailer is waiting for what's expected to be the worst holiday shopping season in memory. So we're all trying to do our part to help out and invite you to do the same.
In exchange, there's supposed to be some awesome stuff on the menu. We've heard something about cupcakes, happy hour drink specials, and some sort of pumpkin cocktail, which sounds horrible but we're going to withhold judgment.
Anyway, the public should definitely feel free to come co-mingle with their favorite (or most despised) local blogging-heads. You can tell us by the prison pallor that speaks to hours spent in dark rooms, peering into computer monitors. Thank God it's getting dark out early; direct sunlight might kill us these days.
