Back in April when our Husky tickets arrived in the mail, we carefully removed the UCLA ones and placed them in a safe place. The return of Rick Neuheisel was to be the game of the year, and we were looking to take out some program-in-free-fall frustration on Slick Rick.
Then in June our special touch friend mentioned that we may be attending a wedding on the day of the game. Knowing that we could not miss the match-up, we panicked and tried to come up with the perfect excuse.
In our mind the packed stadium would be rooting Jake Locker and Tyrone Willingham towards bowl eligibility, needing only to symbolically sleigh the Golden One.
Well, we all know how things ended up. 0-and-who-knows-any-more, plenty of good sections available, a coach on the way out, and apathy running amok. To make matter worse, the game will be played at 7pm when temperatures will be in the mid-forties.
Chances are we will watch the second half of the game in a warm bar.
Oh, and the wedding will take place next fall, the day after LSU rolls through Montlake, which is shame because we would love an excuse to miss that stomping game.

Tuesdays are Muppet Days
