Local Boy Does Good Debating Prop 8

Dan Savage, on CNN yesterday, debated the Prop 8 debacle with smug asshat Tony Perkins. We really think Savage did a good job arguing with this waste of space.

On why he interrupted Perkins so much, Savage explains:

And, yes, I did interrupt Tony Perkins—quite a lot. I've been on TV with Mr. Perkins before, and his MO is never shut up, and run out the clock, and interrupt. And I just wasn't having it tonight.

Don't forget about Saturday's National Protest Against Prop 8. Contrary to what other smug asshats say, this is our generation's civil rights movement.

First let me say - I was very much against Prop 8.

Savage did alright on Colbert. No great shakes. I often find him insufferable.

He's always great on Colbert - one of few celeb/pundits that really understand how to work the show.

I love that Dan wasn't having it, but I'm also just frustrated that Perkins gets airtime at all. Even on a simple, verifiable point like more youth voters casting votes *against* Prop 8 than for it, Perkins slithers around to imply the opposite. If the guy can't do math, what good is he? I mean seriously, when we discuss the economy, should also we give the people who think 2+2=3 or 5--possibly 7 in rare instances--a voice?
