LAUGH SO HARD YOU'LL CHOKE: Actor/comedian Aziz Ansari will probably make you laugh. So, if you like laughter, you might want to go to his show. If you don't like laughter, we have other suggestions. But, at any rate Ansari, who has appeared in Flight of the Conchords and Human Giant will be appearing tonight at the Triple Door. Get your mojito on, get some tasty vittles, and then laugh until you choke.

NO, YOU DA HO: We have some friends from Idaho, so we automatically feel endeared to things that have to do with our buddies' homestate. Like The Dart League King, which is a novel set in Idaho and pressed in Portland. Tonight, it's author Keith Lee Morris will complete the triangle of Northwest connections by reading from it at Elliott Bay Books. Cool.

AN ECONOMY THAT CARES: Riane Eisler believes the economies of the free world are tanking because we need to care a little more. In fact, she wrote a book on the subject called The Real Wealth of Nations: Creating a Caring Economics. As all things are interconnected, she looks at the impacts of human and global caring on economies. She'll be discussing these points at Town Hall tonight, and it will probably be more thoughtful than funny. So if you're one of those people who prefer thinking to laughter, this is your event.
