  • During an election season that touted change and tolerance, the passage of Proposition 8 in California is a painful reminder that intolerance and hatred still have electoral support in this country. Saturday is a national day of protest against Proposition 8, and the Seattle protests begin at Volunteer Park at 10:30 a.m.

  • Speaking of theft, the gentleman in these video stills definitely chose the wrong house in Mt. Baker to break into... i.e. the house fully wired with surveillance video cameras.
  • PhinneyWood reminds you to take down your election signs! Not because of pre-eBay theft, but because after election day, campaign signs are forbidden on public right of ways. In fact, the candidate advertised on those signs can be fined $250 dollars a sign, so unless it's a Dave Reichert sign, take those babies down yourself!
  • We really gotta ask--why bother even calling it "Old Ballard" anymore? Also, is there any other kind of retail store moving into "Old Ballard" than 'high-end'? Can anyone else afford the rent?
