We're looking for the perfect place to get some computer-y work done this weekend. Because Obama was elected president, we have hope that such a perfect place exists. Requirements: must have coffee, must have wifi, and must not have the music turned up to 11. Preferred extra qualities: good food, a fireplace, and an interesting view (maybe even of the water). Seattlest is willing to drive north, south, or even to the Eastside for this perfect place. Suggestions? We'd settle for an almost-perfect four or five of the six listed qualities.

McGinn is Mayor

Maybe this is a terrible suggestion, I've never outright suggested this business otherwise...
I believe the Tully's just North of the Pike Place Market (north of Cutters, across Western from Seattle Athletic Club) fits the bill in all categories, including fireplace. There are a couple tables and comfy chairs that one can pull up nice and close. It doesn't seem to catch much of the market traffic (the FIRST EVER STARBUCKS OMGOMG! seems to do that), and tends to appear pretty chill. The table in the corner might even provide a peek-a-boo view of Elliot Bay and W.Sea. YMMV.
Tully's, yes, but I would suggest the one on Alki. Fireplace, WiFi, and one of the best views on the planet.
Looks like Tully's for me tomorrow. Thanks :D
Oh, jeez, you guys. Tully's? It's not that I'm against Tully's but there are always more indy alternatives. If you have the choice...
If you're not adverse to heading southwest, there are two nice indy places - Pioneer at Alki - I don't know if they have a fireplace, but the view is grand if there's no SUV parked out front. There's also the C&P on California. I LOVE THIS PLACE. I haven't seen the fireplace in use, but they do have one. There's no view, but it is the mellowest local place, it's lovely to hang out there.
I second Alki, but go to Pioneer Coffee instead. On the water, beautiful view, fireplace, good coffee, resonable music level.
Oh, yeah, C&P rocks, too.
Ooooh Alki! Genius!!
Seriously. Tullys?
I would definitely second Pioneer.
Might also suggest Freemont Coffee (in Freemont) or Freshy's On California in W.S.) - both have great coffee, WIFI, Good food, usually chill music, and Freemont Coffee has a fireplace (and a great massage therapist upstairs, just as a side.)
hey, Tully's does have the nifty compostable cups, although if you're drinking in you probably won't need them...and they do sell Alki Bakery goods, and they give a lot to local charities. They're still pretty local, it's not like someone suggested McCafe.
