Stalk Of The Town

Kim is off to the Fremont Abbey tonight to catch one of PDX's finest singer-songwriters, Laura Gibson, in action. She will spend the rest of the weekend napping, baking, and watching movies. Sunday night, she'll emerge from her lair for Jenny Owen Youngs at the High Dive.

Paris has called to our traveler, Ronald, who plans to eat snails and oysters and foie gras over a long weekend in the City of Light (as opposed to sitting at home in the dark and cursing City Light).

Deadlines are looming for Katelyn, so she'll be spending significant portions of the weekend on the computer doing actual work (as opposed to the usual, which is spending the weekend on the computer dicking around on gossip blogs). Her primary leisure mission is to see "Secret Life Of Bees" at some point, the two main reasons being Alicia Keys and Queen Latifah.

Saturday morning at 10 a.m., MvB is heading downtown for his first digital opera experience, John Adams' Dr. Atomic, live from the Met, at the AMC Pacific Place Cinemas. tv%20graffiti%20slightly%20north.jpg

Abbey sincerely has no idea what she is doing this weekend, other than watching The West Wing on DVD--a particularly timely activity, now that Rahm Emanuel (the inspiration for Josh Lyman) is Obama's Chief of Staff. She hopes the days involve music, friends, drinks, and at least one yummy brunch.

Now with over one million miles in his frequent flyer account, Jay, who's been traveling weekly to the east coast since mid-August, is in between trips to upstate New York and Baltimore. He's fighting jet-lag, but will make his weekly trip to the International District for something good to eat.

John's girlfriend is heading to Memphis for the weekend, freeing him up for an orgy of qualuudes and frozen Kroger entrees.
