Did Obama's Victory Thaw The Seattle Freeze?

This morning as we walked in to work, every person we passed had his or her head up high, made eye contact, and actually smiled at us. People on the street said hi cordially and greeted us with "Good morning." It all had us wondering if we woke in a wonderful alternate universe this morning, a universe where an inspiring Democrat will be calling the White House home and where Seattleites actually acknowledge each others' existences. And we gotta say, it made the blurry, hung-over, late trip into the office so much more enjoyable. Is this something Seattleites could keep up? We certainly hope the answer is "yes we can!"

on my bus ride to work wednesday, a woman (later introduced to us as "Peaches") started an Obama chant and pretty much everyone on the bus joined in, happily. it was pretty fucking rad.

Last night thats exactly what I was thinking "someone finally injected life into our people!"

I was in a better mood and feeling good about my city/state/country. Mostly because I expected us to fall into some horrible fascist period and not build mass transit, elect Rossi who would turn us into some half-ass LA and get into new wars under McWalnuts but NOPE!

No need to wanna leave anymore. Excited to see what happens. Wanna give my fellow citizens big ol' hugs.

I found five bucks on the street walking to work this morning. Obama is making things better already, BigGreenFrank!

Wow, you all are ready to credit Obama with EVERYTHING aren't you?

Seattle freeze? As a former NYC'er, I gotta say, people are generally quite "balmy" in Seattle compared to other places. Indeed, though, everyone seems happy and friendly today...

I've noticed strangers being a little friendlier today too, but that may be because I look like Death warmed over from all the partying, crying, and such little sleep.

Guess no one mentioned this to Wall Street today.

  • No. Just temporary. There's a cold front building on the other side of the cascades right now...

it was still as cold and non-eye-contacty as usual on my walk to work this morning lol.
