Happy Election Day!

Polling locations are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in King County, and you can find your polling location here. According to the King County Votes twitter feed, 6,000 people opted to vote early, which bodes well for today's voter turnout. It's the last election King County voters will be able to vote in person, so for those of you who haven't yet gone the absentee route, savor the experience!

Check out another cool Twitter microsite that I've been working on with Tropicana! The site collates all the tweets about the election in a really interesting way - think of it as "Freshly Squeezed Election Tweets!" The site shows frequency and context of election-related terms, live as they happen. Consider it a living information graphic: the picture changes over time as the conversation develops over time. The site will pull a continuous stream of tweets mentioning Obama and McCain. it's a great visual backdrop and organizational tool for all the election-related chatter on Twitter.

  • Yeah, I miss voting in person. I got a head start and went mail-in this year.

It's kinda sad, but probably better for the overall process.

i have created a google map that has all of the locations of polling places in king county - there are actually 3 pages as all the locations didn't fit, so if you scroll down on the lefthand side you can click through to the 2nd & 3rd pages of pushpins. sorry for the long link here, but i'm a luddite when it comes to html:
