•Obama is holding his gathering in Chicago’s Grant Park. McCain’s will be at Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix.
•The last Republican not named George Bush to win the presidency, Ronald Reagan in 1984. McCain/Palin is the first Republican ticket without a Bush or a Dole since 1972 (Nixon/Agnew). The last time the son of a Kenyan goat herder was elected, Grover Cleveland (1872).

4 p.m.: Indiana, Florida, Georgia, New Hampshire, and Virginia.
4:30 p.m.: North Carolina and Ohio
5 p.m.: Pennsylvania and Missouri.
