City of Seattle Proposition 1: Seattle Prop. 1 would enact a six-year levy to raise money to do some much-needed safety maintenance on the Pike Place Market. Pretty much everyone in town supports the levy. With uncharacteristically weird grammar, the Times says, "It's not fun or fancy improvements, but you have to do it."
City of Seattle Proposition 2: This one's about the parks levy, and there's some disagreement as to whether or not this is the right time to ask taxpayers for the $145 million package. The Times says there are some good things about the plan, but "one or two promising proposals are not enough to get voters over the hump of ballot fatigue and overtaxation in trying economic times." The Stranger says Prop. 2 is "totally worth voting for." Mayor Nickels wants to wait until 2010 to ask for this levy, because he and this Seattlest both hate nature/beauty/goodness/children.
And you? What do you think about all of this City of Seattle business? More on both Propositions can be found here. Our poll closes tomorrow at 3 p.m., and be sure to drop a note about your reasoning in the comments.

McGinn is Mayor

First!
I KNEW I wasn't the only Seattlest reader who hates nature/beauty/goodness/children.
i hate nature and children too. i'm all for delaying it a while, we can pay for more parks later. in the mean time we can enjoy the ones we have.
I can't vote against parks, it just seems wrong, even if I do sorta agree with Nickels that it might be the wrong time.
Okay, I know "everyone in town" supports the market levy, and I agree, but there really isn't that much disagreement on the parks levy.
Here's just the organizational and elected officials endorsements for Proposition 2. I know that Seattlest agrees with the Mayor, but these folks don't:

Not all of Seattlest hates parks, Todd. I will vote for parks in Seattle until the cows come home. To their parks. Because they'll be able to graze there peacefully.
Oh, see? Vulcan loves nature too! I'm even more heartless than Vulcan!
We loves the parks! We hates the parks!
Good job Katelyn! Maybe next you'll make a street car that crashes into cows.
A girl's gotta dream, Troy.
