CAJUN BLUES: Wow, who forgot to clue us into this one until the last minute? We'll have to fire some interns over this, but that's what they get. Tab freaking Benoit is playing two sets at the Tractor tonight. It would be a real shame if the place wasn't crazy packed. The man is a legend. Bar none. Be there. WE'RE ALL GONNA BLOW!: To be fair, tonight's Town Hall talk about Mount Rainier isn't all doom and gloom, Discovery Channel-ish end-of-the-world scenario. The National Parks Conservation Association is welcoming Bruce Barcott (author) and Dave Uberuaga (park superintendent) to discuss conservation around the previously named mighty Tacoma mountain. Tree huggers, meet mountain huggers. Good times for all.

SHORT STORY MAYHEM: Jeffrey Renard Allen is an incredible writer, poet, author. However you want to call it. He's won awards, even, and tonight he'll be at Elliott Bay Book Store to discuss his latest release, a short story collection titled Holding Pattern. It's been critically acclaimed and will no doubt blow your mind, should you feel possessed to pick up a copy.
