This photo from our pool was taken a year ago, at a time when it seemed like that dude who was talking about hope and change was a serious long-shot for his party's nomination. Seattlest remembers that very well, because we've been obsessed with this damn election for that long (actually, quite a bit longer than that, even).

This time last year, we were still really cynical, but what a difference a year makes. We've actually found ourselves discussing with friends what it feels like to be able to have actual palpable hope. It's been so long, the word itself feels powerful now—as words often do when they regain lost meaning. Seattlest hopes everything turns out for the best next Tuesday (eight more days!!) and we're also knocking on wood a lot. What about you? Where does your hope lie?
