Is There a Lost and Found for the World?

Seattlest just got back from a really long walk. It was gorgeous down by the water, through some lovely residential neighborhood in Eastlake, past the house boats and around the bottom of Lake Union near I Love Sushi, etc. At some point, heading back up toward Whole Foods, we realized our phone was missing. It's a red Blackberry Pearl with our picture, name and phone number on the screen. We posted something on Craigslist, but figured we'd ask you, fair readers: is there a lost and found for the world? Did anyone find our cell phone?

I do know that people who do lose their shit need to be grateful when working with other people (employees of maybe a hotel) who are trying to get them back in touch with the shit they lost.

Remember, if you lost it, it isn't anybody elses fault when it doesn't turn up.

  • Is it refreshing? At least a little bit so?

I was really hoping that the person who found it would google me, since my name is on the phone. But alas. I think I'm just going to have to get a new one. Luckily, it is locked and password protected, and I stopped service to it. Still, ugh. Phoneless life is unfamiliar.

In theory the findee is supposed to bring the found item to the local police station. Whereupon if the item isn't claimed within X number of weeks the findee can keep the item for themself.

Also if you don't keep your phone password locked I'd strongly suggest changing the password for the email account that you check w/ your phone.
