Can't Miss It: Weekend Edition, Oct. 24-26

BAG OF HIPHOP TRICKS: We're told that there's a hiphop happening at the Rendezvous tonight, of epic proportions. A whole bunch of hiphoppers doing their hiphop thing: They Live has members of Cancer Rising and Massive Monkees. Wizdom and Akrish will be there. Seattlest Katelyn, our local hiphop guruess, says of Akrish, "I like his freestyles." We believe Katelyn because we wouldn't dare cross her. She's got those numbchucks.

MONSTER MASH: Not really, but we have that song stuck in our head and wanted to use it for something today. Nothing in today's Can't Miss It edition is more appropriate for "Monster Mash" than Woodland Park Zoo's Pumpkin Bash. It rhymes, see. Go to the zoo and watch giant animals step on pumpkins! If you don't go, it means you have no holiday spirit.

SILLY PEOPLE IN COSTUMES: Looking for some inspiration for your Halloween costume? Might we suggest dressing like one of the Backyardigans? If you don't know what we're talking about, grab a small child and head to the Paramount this weekend to catch the Backyardigans' show Tale of the Mighty Knights!. (For legal purposes, we should probably clarify that Seattlest does not advocate grabbing random children and taking them to the theater. If you take a child to this show, it should be a child whose parents have given you permission. Of course.)
