Two weeks ago, Seattlest chronicled the financial follies of Aubrey McClendon, CEO of Chesapeake Energy and leader of the gang who stole our Sonics. As the stock market unraveled, McClendon found himself in a margin call and was forced to sell 33 million shares of his company at nearly a $2 billion loss. Now comes word that McClendon may be reneging on his $7 million pledge to the University of Oklahoma's women's rowing team. Seems their new boathouse and living facilities may have to wait a little longer. (h/t to Dashiell Bennett of Deadspin)

Get your facts straight. Aubrey was not the leader of the "gang" that "stole" your sonics. Seattle should of done a better job to keep the sonics.
Um... we read the emails.
