Has it really been that long? I was in a small town in Idaho. It freaked me out when I sat down and there were cigarettes being smoked. It freaked me out, even after acknowledging and holding a conversation about how weird it was, when my friend lit up right next to me.

I was actually just thinking about the smoking ban last week, and how it's so nice that we have it. I'm so used to it now that I can't imagine how we ever allowed smoking in bars, and cities that still allow it seem Stone Age to me. We've had the ban for almost 3 years now.

Tom - fully agreed. Hold your breath. I voted for the ban for the workers who may need to work in those places. They have a right to stay healthy.

It isn't "suddenly enforceable" until there's a ruling. Unless I missed something, the case hasn't even been heard by the court yet.

Thing is: it's a patio... it's outside... smoke away IMO. Insides are largely smoke-free now and I, personally, have no beef with walking past a gauntlet of smokers on the way in. There *must* be room for everyone. Self-righteous non-smokers are among the biggest whiny bastards around. I've though about taking up smoking just to piss the fuckers off.

i live in fremont and i gotta say that the G&D is the worst as far as smoking is concerned. they have this huge parking lot but the last 3 or 4 times i was there, someone's just sitting there smoking right on the patio next to others. obviously this isn't a scientific study, (and the G&D is hardly the only violator of the law), but it's pretty bad there. at least at the red door you can kind of get away from it.

usually, yes slag. And G&D sucks. So maybe that's why. Fucking rude, horrible bartenders and annoying patrons. I really hate those barkeeps, most of the time. They're pretentious unless you have tits. But, that goes for most of Fremont. I'm feeling randy today.
