Can't Miss It: Weekend Edition, Oct. 17-19

MURDEROUS GODDESS: Psyche is an "Greek-myth feast" of an opera about an envious goddess named Aphrodite (aka Venus) who has it in for a lovely human named Psyche (duh). Read more about Garrett Fisher's music and Thom Schramm's libretto here, and before you go we recommend you watch Snow White and the Seven Dwarves to get you psyched (HA!) up for the opera's themes.

8 p.m., Fri. & Sat. // Chapel At Good Shepard, 4649 Sunnyside Ave. N // $5-$15

Compagnie%20Marie%20Chouinard%202%20by%20Michael%20Slobodian.jpgHE GOES THROUGH HELL FOR HER: More Greek myth graces the stage at On The Boards this weekend; Compagnie Marie Chouinard will dance their interpretation of the tragic tale of Orpheus and Eurydice. It's a particularly "audacious" interpretation, too: the dancers will be wearing short shorts, gold pasties, and fuzzy hats! You must go. Compagnie%20Marie%20Chouinard%20by%20Michael%20Slobodian.jpg

8 p.m., Fri. - Sun. // On The Boards, 100 W. Roy // $24

SLAVIC ORCHESTRATIONS: Capella Romana, a professional chamber vocal ensemble specializing in sacred music from the Christian church's Eastern and Western religious traditions, performs Ukranian compositions tonight at Town Hall. This is a beautiful chance to acknowledge the holy mystery, if you go in for that sort of thing. And if you don't, this is a beautiful chance to acknowledge the richness and variety of the Church's musical traditions...

8 p.m., Saturday // Town Hall, 1119 8th Ave. // $38-$77

JOE BIDEN WITHIN SPITTING DISTANCE: We're not recommending you actually spit on him, but you should get your political, election-savvy self down to Tacoma on Sunday for a rally at Cheney Stadium. It's free, and Joe Biden will be there. What more do you need?

12 p.m., Sunday // Cheney Stadium, 2502 S. Tyler St., Tacoma // RSVP here
