Can't Miss It: Thursday

SEE SEE ME RIVER: If you can get yourself to walk beneath the frightening-toothed clown, nothing should stop you from checking out See Me River at The Funhouse tonight. Led by former Das Llamas front man Kerry Zettel, See Me River offers an audial version of American Gothic, crafting haunting acoustic songs that at once drone and soar.

IN RESIDENCE:The Richard Hugo House has a stellar line-up of new in-residence writers this year, and tonight is their first reading. We have to agree with The Stranger's Paul Constant that Ed Skoog alone is worth going for, as he is phenomenal. However, one of the most wonderful things about the Hugo House's readings is you go in knowing you'll love one author, and you'll leave loving them all.

DRINKING WITH THE ENEMY: Okay, so maybe enemy is a bit harsh...but if you attend tonight's monthly Slog Happy Hour, you will definitely be drinking with the competition. While it's no Seattlest happy hour, the Slog's travelling drinking nights are worth checking out. Tonight, Sloggers and their angry commenters alike will be taking over the College Inn Pub.
