Recording Studio Floods, Closes Until Further Notice

boiler%20room%20mixtape.jpgHoly crap! Local recording studio the Seattle Boiler Room flooded last night, thanks to a faulty sprinkling system. That means, according to recording engineer Czar's post on 206Proof, the loss of "15-20k in recording/production equipment, thousands of records, and all Dimmak/Boiler Room merchandise."

But wait, it gets worse: when they called their insurance company, the Seattle Boiler Room guys discovered that the insurance company thinks their coverage contract was canceled verbally last month. Says Czar:

All in all, after investing thousands into the remodel, and suspending paying sessions for four months to do so, we just don't have the 30k it would take to rebuild/re-purchase equipment...the Boiler Room will rise again, without a doubt, but not any time in the near future.

The studio has worked with many of the Northwest's finest hiphop artists, including Grayskul, Oldominion, Toni Hill, and Gabriel Teodros.

This sucks! Good luck, guys.

  • I just googled around their location and they seem to have a lot of lawyers in their neighborhood.

Maybe one of those neighbors would be good?

  • Katelyn

I KNOW, Troy! It's fucked up! They need a good lawyer.

  • You can't cancel a contract verbally.... there's no proof. That's why signatures exist.

WTF is this insurance company?! Out them! Public humilation!
