John Fish (spokesman for the McCain campaign): I'd like to open the floor for questions.

Reporter: Mr. Fish, how do you think Sarah Palin did in Thursday's Vice Presidential debate? And do you think Senator McCain's debate performance this Tuesday will be affected by the media response to Palin's performance?

John Fish: Well, I think it'll be a lively debate, sure to spawn plenty of discussion.

Reporter: Do you think Obama has it in the bag at this point?

John Fish: He may be a few rungs above us in the ladder, so to speak, but I think it's not over til it's over. I'll take one more question.

Reporter: Do you think this race has played out in an especially surprising way?

John Fish: I'll tell ya, it may look like we're only swimming upstream to die. But, like I said, it's not over til it's over. You never know. Anything could happen. The race could turn around and then all that hooey about us being a few points behind will just be water over the dam. Thank you all. And God bless America.
