Can't Miss It: Thursday

Sarah Palin LOLcatYOU BETCHA: As far as Seattlest is concerned, there really is nothing worth doing tonight aside from watching the Sarah Palin show. Will she deliver endless bullshit answers full of noun phrases that seem to have nothing to do with one another? Will she address that "Putin flying over Alaska gives me foreign policy cred" absurdity? Will Joe Biden totally slaughter her, or will he make some "woops" remark that actually makes her come out looking like the more poised option? There is so much on the line, but mostly there's just so much entertainment value. We'll start you off on your drinking game plan: drink when Palin says "You Betcha!"

6 p.m. // All over town // Free, unless you're drinking, then it's up to you

BACKSTAGE PASS: Danny Goldberg is one of the music industry's most well-rounded suits. He's been on both sides of the page, as journalist and recording exec, and he's written a book about all of his experiences: Bumping into Geniuses: My Life Inside the Rock and Roll Business. If you don't care about politics or the direction of our country (or if you have a tivo and an interest in the music industry), head to Elliott Bay and watch him read to you.

7:30 p.m. // Elliott Bay Books // Free

MOVIE NIGHT: Autumn is here and the weather has officially entered sucksville. So if you need to leave the house and you don't care about the future of your country, then maybe a movie is a good idea. Big Picture has Burn After Reading, which we think looks thoroughly fantastic. Besides, the Big Picture has a bar and super tasty popcorn. Beat the rain and gloomy weather, and get your movie on.

6 p.m., 8:30 p.m. // Big Picture // $11

I heard she's playing the flute at intermission tonight.

it's things like that that make it hard to admit to strangers that i studied flute for so long.

that shit is hilarious. i love how she stares down the camera with her eyebrows arched high the whole time, and then how she stands there all dim-looking at the end as the trumpet player outdoes her.

if only she'd added a few dynamics, maybe she could've come in FIRST place!
