Stalk Of The Town

Kim is relieved the debate is actually going to happen. She'll be watching with friends tonight before working all weekend. Saturday, she'll take a break for a quiet night out, and then she'll close the weekend off getting funky in the balcony of Jazz Alley with Maceo.

You can take the boy off the farm, but...MvB will be spending Saturday in a barn, hauling away old equipment, so Sunday he'll be recovering at Top Pot, a New Yorker in hand.

Jack will be wondering why everyone keeps shouting about our area code as he attends the Blue Scholars' Friday night set at the Showbox. The rest of the weekend will be spent attending a friend's wedding, doing yard work, and hopefully bottling that beer he made a couple of weeks ago.

Hiphop stops for no woman! Katelyn will be hitting up The Corner on Friday night after seeing Calexico. On Saturday, she'll rock karaoke at Goldie's (what should she sing?! Choices!) and then she plans on celebrating the company launch of 800lb at a "sexy sexy sexy afterparty." While nursing her hangover the next morning, she'll peruse the debate transcripts and re-read that David Foster Wallace essay about McCain's campaign in 2000.

Tom will be at InfoCamp on Saturday and Sunday, checking out this hip, new, 2.0 unconference thing all the kids are talking about these days. He'll actually be blathering something about geocoding and GPS as it applies to photography.

Now that David S. is back in America, he will fulfill his constitutional right to watch two crappy college football teams play each other. He will also check out his old school's new look, pack up all of his belongings, and move out of his home.

Jay will be doing what Jay does: eating. Saturday he plans to try Made in Kitchen; Sunday, after sipping some chocolate at Chocolopolis, he’ll go to The Corson Building for the Cooks & Books event.

After attending a debate-watching party/poker-game fundraiser for Obama Friday night, Charles is going to take his bleary-eyed self out to the Sustainable Ballard Festival where he will be found volunteering his time at the Bicycle Alliance of Washington booth. The hope is that he can reduce the number of conflicts with drivers he experiences riding to and from work each day by educating both drivers and his fellow riders.

Donte is going to be spending his entire weekend bouncing between venues for the Decibel Festival, Seattle's Electronic Media and Arts Festival (think electronic music and digital imagery). Even if you don't know any of the acts, you should stop by something Decibel related, since the lineup is stellar.

Our wine guy, Ronald, is heading to northern Italy, where he'll be forced to trudge through sangiovese vineyards while on a press tour of the Emilia-Romagna region. "Ciao," he writes to us, "See ya in October!" Since we can't all fit into his carry-on, Ronald notes that it's wine harvest weekend east of the mountains. The Columbia Valley Wineries Association, ten estates at the eastern end of the Yakima Valley, are open to the public to "Taste the Crush" on Saturday and Sunday.

Abbey is going to spend Friday at one of her favorite DIY venues seeing a great up-and-coming band. But since we love the venue and don't want our name spray-painted or postered with expletives all over Capitol Hill, we're going to keep its location to ourselves. On Sunday she plans on braving fire and mosh pits to see a Monotonix matinee set at The Sunset Tavern. Here's to hoping this one lasts longer than 15 minutes!

Now that the debate is officially on, Audrey will be watching that for sure on Friday night. U-S-A! U-S-A! The rest of the weekend should involve taking it easy and enjoying the last of the sunshine.

I love this feature. Katelyn, tell the guys at Goldie's they should have hired me. I make a mean draft beer.
