It was a tremendous post yesterday RVP! And local violence is getting worse. In my neighborhood I've heard more gunshots in the last three months, than I have in the last three years combined. I could link or report multiple stories daily about gun/gang/stabbing violence and deaths, but somedays I can't just get myself to do it. Sadly, in fact, I could strictly cover local shootings/senseless deaths and write my three stories a day. As always, I thoroughly enjoy reading and linking to the Rainier Valley Post. Thanks so much for the compliments/feedback regarding neighborhood news and keep up the great work!!

Thanks for the love, seatown22. Way to represent. Abbey does indeed link to The Post frequently and we adore her for that. Although it's probably also fair to point out that of the three stories RVP posted yesterday, the first covered an increasingly dangerous gang war playing out in the Othello neighborhood, where this editor happens to live, and that it detailed the third shooting in the area in as many weeks, which is sort of big news, albeit not so glamorous. I can't let my kids play in the front yard anymore for a while, the back either since I live on a corner lot, and we've had to talk about what bullets sound like and what to do when you hear them, which sucks... The second story wasn't worth mentioning unless of course you were the poor folks involved in that Beacon Hill car accident. :-( And the third, I just have to boast for a minute and say, was quite possibly one of the best things I've ever written.* So WTF, Abbey?! Just kidding, dear. I link to the Rainier Valley Post frequently in my neighborhood news roundup, as well as Blogging Georgetown, White Center Blog, Mid-Beacon Hill, and Captain Columbia City when it still posted regularly. Yesterday, the Rainier Valley Post posted two stories, neither of which I chose to link to for this particular Roundup. I don't believe that makes me an elitist.
