If you'd rather get your face first country-rocked gently and then melted off, head to the Tractor for Shim with The Maldives opening. It's like a Bumbershoot Sky Church reunion special.

Saturday night, Ra Ra Riot plays King Cobra. We have nothing but good things to say about this orchestral pop collective, so if you haven't seen them before, be sure to do so this time around.

There's also Joan as Police Woman at the Triple Door, which is guaranteed Fierce.

Or get your swamp-rock soul on at Neumo's with JJ Grey and Mofro.
