Bumbershoot is Number One!

"Boaz Holding the Watson Twins @ Bumbershoot" by Seattlest Flickr pool member sonoazure

One Reel announced yesterday that last year's Bumbershoot won the 2008 Grand Pinnacle Award, whatever that is. Okay, so it's actually the big prize handed out by the International Festivals & Events Association to honor the most bestest festival or event, beating out the Kentucky Derby, the Indianapolis 500 Festival, and the Tournament of Roses. You lose again, sports.

Bumbershoot producers One Reel took home eleven awards in all, including a gold (and a silver) in Best T-Shirt Design, a silver in Best Event Website (really?), and a bronze in Best Environmental Program. We'd like to see Michael Phelps even try to compete in those events---in your face, Mushmouth!

One Reel should enjoy it while they can, because we get the feeling they aren't going to be taking home any prizes next year for the official 2008 Bumbershoot poster. Yowza.

Is that seriously the poster? lol.

It was on a white background, but yep, that's the painting that was used for this year's poster.

That's not the "Official Poster." It's the Fine Arts poster (and, hey! I bought one). Each year there's two.

The official poster looks a lot like their blue and green campaign design.

that poster was the scariest thing in the press room, by far.

That poster gave me an anxiety attack.

bumbershoot is the bestest tho.
