Weekend Sports Wrap-up

The Storm won a game against the worst team in the history of the WNBA and our local prep gridders went .500. Other than that, lots of sports-related misery to go around this weekend as our hometown football teams are now 0-8 for the season.
Friday
The Storm won at home 77-72, beating the visiting Atlanta Dream, whose 4-30 record is the worst ever in the WNBA.
The Cougs were soundly thumped at Baylor 45-17, after entering the game favored. Apparently, the game wasn't fixed as we predicted. It must have been the rain.
Saturday
Seattle-area moving companies' eyebrows are now raised as the Tyrone Willingham Era winds down at Montlake. The Dawgs were blown out 55-14 at home by the Sooners.
Sunday
The Seahawks dropped a game to the division foe 49ers 33-30 in overtime. The defensive backfield was shredded at key moments throughout the game and undermined a strong offensive showing by the banged-up Hawks. The Hawks also had 8 sacks in the loss.
The Storm lost a meaningless game at LA 65-48, trailing 40-18 at the half. The Storm finish the season 22-14 and begin playoff action against the same LA squad on Friday.
The Mariners were swept by the Angels, and now face losing 100 games this season.
