A Local We're Totes Crushing On

This Seattlest has never been the world's biggest sports fan, as we've mentioned before. But Storm guard Sue Bird has made us care about women's basketball this season.

We don't know enough about the game to use the right terminology, but we can say that she's fearless on both sides of the court, she scores a basket once every 30 seconds or so, and she appears to never ever tire or get upset or annoyed about anything. She's an Olympic gold medalist. Her hair always looks remarkably perfect, even at the end of the game. (We can't even walk down the street without a breeze turning our hair to knots. We have to give her props for playing her ass off and still having a perfect ponytail that looks like it was just washed and brushed.) Finally, let's face it: she is, unarguably, crazy-hot. How could we not totes crush on her? Sue Bird, we salute you as Seattlest's totes crush of the week. Now go get us a championship!

who do you think would win in a game of HORSE? sue bird or a-rob. i'd put my money on bird. BAM!

Sigh.... Sue Bird is so goddam cool, cute and well, hot.

Who needs the sonics when Sue Bird is here?

Well, I need the Sonics (r.i.p.).

Sue Bird plays basketball like a frigid wife. Give me the real hot LJ any time, and day.

Can your frigid wife average 20 points a game when LJ's not there? I didn't think so. As for the Sonics, I love the fact that the Storm won 2 more games than the Sonics did this season, playing about 1/3 the number of games.

My wife is not frigid and couldn't make a free throw from 2 feet.

But it's besides the point.

Kim has a crush on Sue. Good for her. I have one on LJ.

And LJ is the best women's player in the world, much less the Storm.

As you may have guessed I'm with Kim on the crush. Not to take an iota of anything away from LJ's amazingness. But Sue's more DC and LJ's more Marvel, if you see what I mean. LJ is the 6'4" blonde alien from another planet/continent, while Sue is human but has incredibly honed abilities beyond that of most people.

Wow. Could I sound any geekier?
