I'm putting my money on McCain, he has the momentum and the media LOVES Palin. Look at Google News today. It's a fricking Palin love fest meanwhile, Joe Biden is practically forgotten.

Maybe...but grabbing at one poll like it's holy truth hasn't ever helped anyone. If you look at the polls as a group (not talking about WA in particular), there are polls to show just about anything. It's the overall trend among the polls taken together that seems most representative - realclearpolitics.com has a nice collection of lots of national polls and some state polls. I'd like to compare multiple polls taken at the same time in WA (realclearpolitics doesn't help me here - they only have polls over the last few months, not simultaneously obtained polls) to actually figure out what to believe. One poll does NOT always represent the reality!

I guess that the request to come down off the ledge and not run scared was directed more at me than at your post Abbey.... I'd rather run scared at this moment if it energizes people to get the fuck out there and work for Obama and not just assume he's gonna take WA. This is the exact kind of thing that could make us lose this state and this election all of a sudden.

hillary did address a union crowd in new york the other day, telling them "no way, no how, no mccain, no palin." (according to the emails i'm still getting from her campaign.) she's also in FL this week to talk to the oprah-hating palinites, so hopefully that'll make some sort of difference. still, i wish he'd send her to ohio or pennsylvania, or some shit. immediately.

The Obama campaign needs to ask Hillary to attack Palin, along the lines of: I know Hillary Clinton, she's an extremely good friend of mind, and Sarah, despite the fact you have a vagina, you're no Hillary.

I don't think this story has any hints or running scared or freaking out -- it's pretty basic reporting of the poll numbers. However, I do think confidence that such and such will go Blue - is the kind of attitude that has had the Dems loosing for the past eight years nationally.
