Can't Miss It: Tuesday
AUSSIES IN THE HOUSE: The Waifs are so much fun live. There's just something about families that sing together—you can't get that kind of synchronicity from strangers. The Australian sisters and their male guitarist compatriot are one of the most delightful folk-pop bands around, and their live energy is undeniably infectious. Catch them tonight at that swanky joint, the Triple Door.
7 p.m. // The Triple Door // $33

THIS ONE TIME, AT BOOK CLUB: It's been a little while since this Seattlest's fledgling book club disbanded, and we're thinking this autumn would be a wise enough time to jump back into the book club scene. Elliott Bay Books, being one of the finest indie book stores in town, hosts a monthly club. You can join up tonight, if you so desire. They've been reading Virgin Soil, by Ivan Turgenev. Show up ready to discuss. You've still got a few hours to cram.
6:30 p.m. // Elliott Bay Books // Free
A LITTLE TOO KARAOKE: Maybe you're sick of music now that you spent the entire weekend surrounded by it at Bumbershoot. Then again, maybe you were inspired to try your own hand at being a rock star. If you're of the latter persuasion, head on out to West Seattle tonight for the Skylark's monthly karaoke competition with guest judges. Not only is it the finest thing that side of the bridge tonight, but Skylark also have tasty sweet potato fries. Yum!
10 p.m. // Skylark Cafe & Club // Free
