Fun Facts About Obama's Speech

Obama%202004%20DNC.jpgTonight in Denver, Barack Obama will make history by becoming the first man in over three and a half years to accept the Democratic Party’s nomination for President. Here is everything you need to know about tonight.

•The speech will take place at the 75,000 seat INVESCO Field at Mile High, where the Seahawks are 1-0 all time, beating the Broncos 23-20 in 2006.

•The speech should start sometime between 6:45 and 7:00 p.m. (ish).

•Tonight’s theme is "Change You Can Believe In," narrowly beating out "Pajama Day."

•Some of the speakers taking the stage before Obama: Al Gore, Howard Dean, Bill Richardson, Martin Luther King III, and David "The Spam Filter Buster" Plouffe.

•If you get shut out of your secret mosque's viewing party, the Slog has a list of other gatherings around town.

•James Dobson’s Focus on the Family has been praying for rain, and God didn’t care.

•The Daily Show isn't back to the stratospheric level it was at when Ed Helms, Rob "Come On" Corddry, Steve Carell, and Stephen Colbert were the correspondents. However, after a few years lost in the woods, it's once again pretty funny. Their DNC coverage is titled "Look Who’s Coming to Denver." We gave the pun an initial half smile, however, thirty seconds later when we actually got the joke, we laughed out loud.

•Our dinner suggestion? Well, in honor of Colorado, might we suggest elk, buffalo, or Rocky Mountain oysters, which are in fact the testicles of some local animal? We'll be making buffalo burgers and washing them down with Coors Light, until we switch to something that doesn't taste like ass.

I will be eating cheese at an undisclosed location during this speech, and I will have to catch up on it later. But I'm sure it will make me cry, be inspiring, etc. etc.
