Oh those wacky Republicans in Snohomish County. Geri Modrell, the chairwoman of the Snohomish Republican Party, has issued an apology after some GOP volunteers at the Evergreen State Fair sold racist $3 bills (available at conservative websites everywhere!) "depicting Sen. Barack Obama in traditional Arab headgear with a camel."
Good one, guys. He's a Secret Muslim A-Rab devil, who goes by "Da Man," and he's got Ted Kennedy as his "Chief Socialism Advisor" and Al Sharpton as his "New Spiritual Advisor." Brilliant. How many email forwards did you have to compile to come up with that load of untruthiness?
The good people at Radar (who first brought this to our attention, despite never having heard of Snohomish) had this to say:
Okay, first of all, only in Snohomish, you know? Second of all, guys, the man has a bajillion dollars sitting in his campaign chest. You couldn't have upgraded him to the $4 bill? There's a joke in here somewhere about Making Change, but we're too dizzied by the realization there is a Snohomish in our midst to make it. Oh and Obama? Still not a Muslim.

Tuesdays are Muppet Days

Um, I think it's anti-gay, too, as in "queer as..."
It's oddly heartening that this is what they're reduced to. And you have to admit, in terms of funny, it's neck and neck with Larry the Cable Guy.
What about the racist 'serial number'
IBD14UOK?
That's just as bad as the rest of this
God I cant wait to see the looks on their faces if he wins.
Anyone else notice a bunch of negative headlines about Obama leading up to the convention?
I'm getting the feeling the media bias is once again tipping overly conservative in an election year.
"once again tipping overly conservative".
Please provide examples of this exhaustive list.
Well Ruffhauser, 4 years ago the media pretty much gave Bush a free pass despite the obvious trail of sleaze established behind the Iraq rationale.
The election coverage was about Kerry not being a real enough Vet, not about Bush as an established liar and fraud.
This time around, we have headlines carrying the RNC talking points about "Obama's lack of experience" and how "the Democrats are split over Hillary" and divided.
It's like the press is going out of their way to paint the Democrats as confused and inexperienced when the real clowns are the idiots who want to sign up for four more years of the same failure that got us to this point.
The liberal media is an hallunication limited to celebrity gossip. The talking points that the heavyweights agree to all echo are the real evidence of bias, and so far senile McCain is getting an easy pass.
I mean, how else do you explian him polling as stornger on defense when he supports the discredited Bush doctrine? Only media reinforcement of total BS can lead to a collective glazing over that favors him.
"It's like the press is going out of their way to paint the Democrats as confused and inexperienced "
When I hear stuff like this, I think of the Will Rogers quote.
"I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat."
Don't bring media into this. Media is a mess. Media isn't left wing or right wing, with the exceptions. Media is money. Whatever people will watch, the media will play.
Also, while this is disgustinly crass and a bullshit apology issued, anyone notice what the DNC was handing out?
A McCain How Many Houses Do I Own? button. Which one has more class now?!
Oh, and yeah, I'm sure local democrats across the nation have gone over the line. But ruffhauser.... what do you think of the racial tones here? Do they gain the same fervent defense as you proposed for the godless billboard?
Sorry, Troy, you lost me.
What am I supposed to be defending or promoting here?
Not sure. I was wondering if the Muslim religion is granted the same sheltering from discrimination you were preaching here:
I was assuming that logic flowed over to Muslims as the crux of your statement was that the majority isn't subject to the same sort of defenses as the minority.
Troy - Maybe we'll get together at one of these Seattlest outings and have a drink and a laugh.
Until then, I'll get to tell my friends that someone thinks I'm both "fervent" and "preachy".
Haha, sounds good to me. You can tell them that that same person has had several death threats against them based on their opinions.
