Chris vs. Dino: The Deuce—the Gas Tax

Gasworks%20Park.jpgThere are 11 weeks until Election Day, and 11 issues in our state's gubernatorial race (12 if you count Eastern Washington's concerns). Each week we'll be taking an award-winning look at where the candidates stand.

Washington residents pay the highest gas tax in all the land. Wait, what?!?! We demand to know who is at fault for this!

Rossi: She is, because she signed the 2005 bill that increased the gas tax 9.5 cents for transportation projects. Three years later the tax isn't making traffic better, for example it still takes drivers over a second to get from the gas station to the grocery store.

Gregoire: Hey, don't blame me because the gas tax isn't bringing in as much money as we thought. It's those stupid drivers that are using less gas. Besides, back in 2003, when you had a job, you voted for a five cent gas tax increase, so you obviously wanna make a baby with gas taxes.

Next Week: Your mom.
