The shadows of unseen trash cans look like giant chess pieces looming over the large sidewalk chessboard squares, all bordered by that lovely inlaid tile that runs the length of Broadway. Given the impending construction of the Sound Transit station, we wonder, and worry, about what will happen to this pretty sidewalk enhancement.
