Tired of those ridiculously clever Mac vs. PC commercials painting them as out-of-date and incompetent, Microsoft is trying a new ad campaign of their own. A $300 million dollar ad campaign to be exact, with Jerry Seinfeld as the star-power at the helm. We're a PC-owner and we find ourselves nodding knowingly at the Apple ads all the time. So Microsoft and Seinfeld are going to have to come up with something mighty clever to distract from the truth found in those witty Apple ads. The ad campaign debuts on September 4th. We don't suspect it will end our Mac lust.

Only Microsoft would fail to see the irony in this strategy.
Is the irony that the ads will be on Macs?

"but i dont wanna be a PC!"
Just another example of Microsoft being behind the times. Ten years ago Seinfeld went off the air when it was at the top of the ratings and Microsoft was unassailably at the top of the heap in just about everything. Apple wasn't in great shape, google was still in diapers, and aside from the pesky Justice Department Microsoft had little to worry about. But things have changed and in order to zest up their image and answer a very successful ad campaign, which they have ignored for two or three years, they turn to someone who was hot when they were. Umm, did anyone at Microsoft see Bee Movie?
Macs are great for editing but I've found the marketing to be better than the product.
A lot of the younger market they're trying to reach doesn't really have any solid idea who Jerry Seinfeld is. His show's been off the air for a decade. What, is Milton Berle dead or something?
Yeah, and Shecky Greene was booked. Seinfeld was all they had left.
