Today in Dirty, Creepy Man and Coffee Stand News

The Sweet Spot Espresso StandAs you probably guessed by now, Seattlest has been through some inner conflict about this whole near-nude barista trend spreading out across our dear little region. But regardless of whether or not your want your latte served to you by a well-clad ponytail girl or a hot-bodied gal in a bikini (or a dude in pasties!), who are we to say what's wrong? Just don't show up for your 5 a.m. java fix fondling yourself and grossing out your hard-working coffee puller. We don't care what those ladies are wearing. Nobody needs to be subjected to that at work. Especially not first thing in the morning.

According to KIRO-TV:

A man dressed in woman’s underwear and exposing himself drove up to a Parkland espresso stand three times before one of the baristas threw a cup of boiling water at him, said the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office...

When the man came back a third time one of the baristas took a cup of 220 degree water and doused him with it.

"Kylie opened the door and threw boiling hot water on his face and his chest and he said oooh yeah," Feddock said

There's nothing inherently wrong with a guy wearing women's underwear. Who are we to judge? But wearing women's underwear, fondling yourself, and getting excited when your victim gets pissed and throws boiling water at you is just creepy.

What gets us about the KIRO article is this line: "Police agencies around Pierce County said they are seeing more and more incidents of indecent exposure--as more coffee stands open--many with women dressed provocatively--or barely dressed at all." So, if a woman dresses sexy, you're telling us she should expect creepy gross men to be creepy and gross? She's asking for it? Are they suggesting that men can't help but be creepy and gross when there are women in bathing suits around? We don't really buy that. We've been to the beach and the pool before. Men can contain themselves. Maybe Pierce County just has an unbalanced population of creepyass men.

People should also know that KIRO 7 has VIDEO OF THE ENCOUNTER. crazy

I think they're asking for it if they dress like ho's.

I hardly think wearing a bathing suit is akin to dressing like a "ho."

Only hos wear bikinis. Non-hos wear full-body diving suits.

Its a hoe-bag move to wear a bikini in a coffee stand. They know what theyre doing. Its entertaining and all but you cant act suprised when it attacks pervs.

I mean attracts.

That would really be cool if bikinis attacked pervs though.

Don't get me wrong, an aggressor has to take blame. I don't think it's that the women are "asking" for it, but exactly, don't be surprised.

It's like being surprised when you cross an intersection without looking both ways and you get hit. technically you are legal to cross and a car must stop, but common sense dictates to get your head up from your cell phone and take responsibility for where your body goes.

So yes, the women wearing pasties shouldn't get subjected to nasty, panty wearing, boiling liquid loving pervs but neither should they be shocked when their scantly clad bodies attract undesired attention. Strippers have accepted this reality.

Remember, as my momma always said, life ain't fair.

It's all about suggestion and context. I've been in old school clubs where the wait staff wear "risque" outfits that cover 3x as much as a bathing suit, but guys in there went gaga. But when you're on a beach, you generally know what to expect.

Does anyone think this whole load of dung would be newsworthy to begin with if not for the out-of-place suggestion?
