Sometimes a Bee Jay every day gets you wanting more.
Mike Hargrove, who resigned as manager of the Mariners last July, claiming that he had lost his passion for the job, told the AP that he wants back in the big leagues.
Hargrove has been managing the Liberal (Kansas) Bee Jays, a summer team for college players, an experience that has re-awoken the fire within. "Seeing these college kids love the game as much as major leaguers got me going. I had a blast."
Wait, he saw Mariner players loving the game?
Well, it figures that Hargrove, who got under our skin for going with veteran players who had "been through the wars," but who were in reality "washed-up," would find his passion around young, energetic players.
Spending every day around Raul Ibanez and Richie Sexson would have us questioning our life.
We find it hard to believe that Hargrove, who wasn't a great manager to begin with, will be trusted by another franchise; however, as Chuck Armstrong continues to prove, baseball teams aren't run by thinkers.
Why can't Hargrove just be like other ex-Mariners managers and run a Chinese start-up?
In fun Mariner news, Griffey will face Felix tonight at 5:10 on FSN.

Tuesdays are Muppet Days

I think he just wants to regain some self-esteem after coaching a team called the Liberal BeeJays. I'm all for liberal bj's, but Jebus! I wouldn't want to wear that on my uniform every day.
Isn't Ibanez the only Mariner who consistently drives in runs?
