Cool It!

Last night, fanless in our excessively hot apartment, Seattlest resorted to sticking our head and shoulders in the freezer for a good five minutes. We then sat on the floor holding a cold bottle of water against the back of our neck. We're terrified of turning on the stove, lest we just burst into flames. All this, and we grew up in Florida, where these temperatures would be considered charming spring weather.

We don't want to bore you by going on and on about the weather. We actually really like the heat and sweating, but we also like the opportunity to cool off a little bit. And, we figure there are more like us. So, here's your "beat the heat" public service announcement from Seattlest, because we'd hate our readers to collapse with heat stroke (especially this weekend, when you all need to join us for happy hour on Monday).

Do us and yourself a favor and head on out to a local public pool or one of the many local beaches and get your cool-down on. Or, if swimming isn't your thing, sit in the sun and drink a tasty frosty beverage. Or just go somewhere with AC and pretend to be there for some other reason. We won't tell.
