Can't Miss It: Tuesday

Governor Christine GregoireDRINK WITH CHRIS GREGOIRE: Drinking Liberally gathers each Tuesday to talk politics and drink alcohol. Tonight, they'll be joined by unafraid-to-call-herself-a-Democrat Chris Gregoire, who will no doubt be drinking for the votes of all those in attendance.

SPEAKING OF GETTING SHIT DONE: Elliott Bay Books hosts their Global Issues and Ethics Book Club tonight, where they'll be discussing Paul Hawken's Blessed Unrest: How the Largest Social Movement in History is Restoring Grace, Justice, and Beauty to the World. Sure, it may take much of the meeting just to pronounce the book's title, but the rest of the time should be informative and inspiring, whether or not you've read it yet. If you haven't read it, you now have 7 hours to get as far into it as possible.

TRANS-FABULOUS ART: Noelle Walker wil be showing tonight at Babeland as part of the Capitol Hill Art Walk. Her thought-provoking art is described as "the juxtaposition of body and the word, construction and self-construction, text and subtext." We would add to that "poetic" and "memorable." Of course, there will be art at all manner of venues about the Hill tonight, so if Walker's not your thing, check out the rest of the Art Walk.

Drink with Chris??

Hope she brings her ID this time.

Why would anyone in Washington State be afraid to call themselves a Democrat.

Now, self-applied labels of "Republican" have something to worry about, especially on this website.
