So, who got the 2008 Voters' Pamphlet in the mail this week? There are some weirdos in there this summer, or maybe only in our appropriately zoned edition. This weekend (yes, on a Friday night....what are you trying to say?), we plunked down on the couch to read the more noteworthy parts of the Pamphlet to our housemate. Here are our favorite tidbits, with page references for those of you who live by Seattlest HQ and are registered to vote:
- Goodspaceguy Nelson's family is "the life of Spaceship Earth." His significant career experience includes his desire to "advance rejuvenation" and "more movies to be made in Washington State." He asks voters to limit campaign contributions to under $25. p. 10 (No comment)
- Will Baker refers to Gov. Gregoire as "The Cover-Up Queen" four times. p. 17 (You mad!!! Warning: website has chirpy music that plays automatically)
- Javier O. Lopez' significant career experience consists of his invention of an "air engine." p. 23 (Italics his. Wears a beret)
- Mohammad Hassan Said "would like to sound the alarm" that Jews are running the world through "Both Political Parties" and other institutions. p. 24 (He's a doctor! Website references aspirin and fearing God)
- John Potter's significant career experience is that he was a "Scoutmaster and Boy Scout leader for over 30 years." p. 45 (No website.)
- Leslie Klein was a spy for the USAF and authored "a New Age workbook about how to bring happiness into your life while living in our money based culture." p. 50 (Warning: website has annoying flash intro)
All hail the democratic process!

Javier O. Lopez-I saw something the other day on the TV about air powered cars. during the day you get solar panels to compress the air into tanks, then use the compressed air to power the car. the cars are super light because they don't get as hot as a regular engine, but have a VERY limited range. The TV said it would cost less than 5$ to fill up the car.
The whole trick with solar power is to be able to power stuff when the sun isn't around.
